Soccer= SOCK it to HER

A brief history of "Patient Mish"-

 Patient Mish has had Petella dislocation Injury.  Thus resulting in a psychotic phobia of that reoccuring pain.  A pain that makes her throw up in her mouth a little at the slight thought of it.

Patient Mish has often been heard saying that her knee injury was more painful than the birth of her two lovely children.

Poor Patient Mish.

I have been keeping up with my workouts and even went to a Yoga studio on Tuesday to do some "real yoga".  Goodlife Yoga at my gym is a bit of a joke!  Yoga was lovely at this studio.  A great workout.  I was feeling so good and stretched out... maybe too stretched out actually.

When I went to play soccer last night, I felt as though my joints were a bit loose.  At one point in the beginning of the game I landed with my leg hyper extended and I felt my knee cap shift.  This put me in hyper panic mode.  I was starting to freak out.  I took a bit of a breather and went back out.  Then I happened to slightly touch (totally foul and send her flying) this petite girl and she landed right in front of her whole team.  They were beyond MAD at me and she was furious.  I tried saying sorry 2x and actually meant it but she was already filled with venom by that point.  "Vengeance is mine" sayeth the tiny waif of a girl.

As soon as I had the ball she had her target.  I had a few repeated kicks to my knee brace and thought I was done for.  All I felt was pain in my knee and thought for sure that it was my petella again or even worse, a new injury to my knee.  Thankfully it was just me freaking out.  My knee is fine.  Just beaten up and feeling a bit battered.  Poor knee... it's had a tough life.

Good news is that this does not in any way effect my workout schedule.  I will not let my knees define what I can and cannot do!

  1. Totally relate. Had 2 knee surgeries by the time I was 23 because of recurrent dislocation. Walking across a parking lot and BOOM! Out of place. Walking onto a dance floor at a bar and BOOM! Out of place. I'm sure the fear will pass in time.

  2. I have to say... adult soccer is brutal! A friend of ours just had 3 ribs broken, a punctured lung and half his spleen removed after a hard hit. Wowzers! I had no idea as I sat on the sidelines watching my 6, 7 and 8 year olds play that someday they may face some serious injuries in this sport. CRAZY!
